Miami Beach, FL – The City of Miami Beach will soon begin offering need-based parking discounts for employees of Miami Beach businesses who commute into the city to work and rely on consistent access to parking.
“Our workforce is the backbone of the Miami Beach economy and they deserve affordable access to parking when they come to work,” said Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez, who sponsored the measure. “As the cost of living continues to rise, this is one practical way we can support the people who keep our city running.”
Under the Employee Value Parking (EVP) Program, which was unanimously approved by the Miami Beach City Commission, eligible workers must apply directly to the city for the discounted parking rates. About 150 spots are available at three city-owned parking garages for $100 per month — representing a 25% savings from the regular price of $132 plus tax.
“Local businesses rely on dedicated employees, and making commuting more cost-effective helps employers recruit and retain the talented people who power our economy,” added Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “By supporting our workers, we are directly strengthening small businesses.
The program is limited to the G7, G8 and G9 garages at 1755 Meridian Ave., 550 Lenox Ave. and 1661 Pennsylvania Avenue respectively. To be considered for the program, workers must fill out an online form available here. The window to fill out an application to be considered for the program is from August 5 – August 19, 2026. Applicants will be evaluated on a first come first served basis as well as other factors including proximity to garage, income, space availability and equitable distribution among local businesses.
Those who are selected will be notified by August 26, 2026 and will be able to begin using the EVP Program rate starting September 1. Businesses are not eligible to apply on behalf of their workers.
