23 Street Streetscape Improvements

This project includes the installation of two-way buffered bicycle lanes along 23 Street between Dade Boulevard and Park Avenue, on Park Avenue between 23 and 22 Streets, and on 22 Street from Park Avenue to the Beachwalk. Additional improvements include parking modifications, new traffic signal mast arms, pedestrian signals, sidewalk, curb, and gutter replacement, as well as driveway adjustments.

The scope also features a raised intersection at 22 Street and Park Avenue, intersection bulb-outs, drainage enhancements, pavement milling and resurfacing, and updated signage and pavement markings throughout the project area.

The project boundaries are as follows:

• 23 Street between Dade Boulevard and Park Avenue
• Park Avenue between 23 and 22 Streets
• 22 Street from Park Avenue to the Beachwalk

Construction began on May 12, 2025. Work hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project will be completed in three (3) phases. Timelines will be shared in updates, but residents and visitors should expect construction to span several months.

Please know that this schedule may change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

This project will be conducted in three phases, each with a detailed Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan developed in accordance with FDOT standards. These plans will ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians throughout construction. Further details regarding lane closures and pedestrian detours will be provided in future project advisories.
