72 Street Community Complex
Project Overview:
As part of the 2018 General Obligation Bond (GOB) program, the City of Miami Beach is developing the 72 Street Community Complex, located between Collins Avenue and Harding Avenue in the North Beach neighborhood. The existing surface parking lot will be transformed into a vibrant, multi‑use community complex that brings recreation, learning, wellness, and public amenities together within a single destination.
The new facility will include an outdoor athletic field, a fitness center, a community pool with lap lanes, pickleball courts, a community center with multi-use rooms, a library and ground floor retail spaces. A multi-level parking garage to replace the existing surface lot.
This project will serve as a signature public facility for North Beach combining education, recreation, green space, and community amenities while supporting neighborhood revitalization and long‑term sustainability.
