GO Bond 2018 Project

Marine Patrol Facility

Project Overview:

G.O. Bond #54 - Marine Patrol Facility

As part of the 2018 General Obligation Bond (GOB) funded initiatives, the City of Miami Beach is moving forward with the redevelopment of the Marine Patrol Facility, located adjacent to the newly enhanced Maurice Gibb Memorial Park in the Sunset Harbour neighborhood.

The existing 2,500 SF facility currently used by the Police Department Marine Patrol Unit will be completely demolished to make way for a modern, multi-agency marine operations center.

The new facility will support both Police and Fire Department Marine Patrol Units, and will include:

  • Ground Level: A welcoming lobby for visitors, public restrooms, and a Parks Department office to support park operations. The level will also include a covered boat storage, and dedicated storage areas for both Fire and Police Department marine equipment.
  • Second Level: Headquarters for the Police Department Marine Patrol Unit, along with a shared gym to promote wellness and readiness.
  • Third Level: Dedicated space for the Fire Department Marine Patrol Unit, enhancing emergency response capabilities on the water.

This project is closely integrated with the recent, broader improvements to Maurice Gibb Memorial Park, which include a new music-themed playground, expanded living shoreline, increased park resiliency, and enhanced recreational amenities. Together, these efforts will create a state-of-the-art waterfront destination that serves both public safety and community enjoyment.
