North Beach Entrance Signs
Project Overview:
The North Beach Entrance Signs project is comprised of new entrance signs located at two (2) separate sites in the North Beach area.
The first sign is to be located at 2057 71 Street. The site is within the right-of-way at the western entrance of Normandy Isle, at the intersection of the John F. Kennedy Causeway, Bay Drive and Normandy Drive (71 Street). The new sign on 71 Street will replace an existing entrance sign and includes large channel letters, 4’-10” in height, that spell out “MIAMI BEACH” at the base of an architectural canopy. The canopy is supported by rectilinear piers and features perforations that allow for palm trees to weave through the structure.
The second sign, to be located at Harding Avenue and 87 Street, the vacant lot adjacent to 8635 Harding Avenue (Harding Avenue & 87 Street), has similar characteristics as the first sign. The entrance sign also includes large channel letters (“Miami Beach”) at the base of a smaller canopy that is supported by rectilinear piers and features perforations that allow for palm trees to weave through the canopy.
The projects include MOT, demolition, installation of pin piles, foundation, canopy structure, lighting, lettering, drainage, landscape and irrigation work. The Project is currently in the Invitation to Bid (ITB) process, with a construction contract expected in November 2026 and construction to begin in early 2027.
