Miami Beach, FL – The City of Miami Beach is set to launch the 17th season of the popular SoundScape Cinema Series with 28 free movies on a soaring 7,000-square-foot projection wall and state-of-the-art sound system outside New World Center at 500 17 Street.
Residents and visitors alike are invited to pack a picnic basket and set up a blanket in SoundScape Park every Wednesday, rain or shine. The season kicks off at 8 p.m. on Oct. 7 with biopic “Selena” and continues through May 26 with the heart-pounding aerial action of “Top Gun.”
The 17th season will feature recent big-budget releases like “Supergirl” on Nov. 18 and “Toy Story 5” on April 28.
“The SoundScape Cinema Series has become a beloved Miami Beach tradition, bringing families together and enriching our city’s quality of life,” said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “Watching a movie under the stars is a shared experience that brings our community together and makes Miami Beach such a special place to call home.”
The weekly series features family-friendly classics and award-winning films outside the Frank Gehry-designed home of the New World Symphony. Rounding out the October fun will be “The Goonies on Oct. 14, “Casper” on Oct. 21 and “The Addams Family on Oct. 28” — just in time for Halloween.
Moviegoers can welcome the winter holidays with the heartwarming classic “Elf” on Dec. 23.
