Andrea Myers
A Soft Pixelation
Andrea Myers received her BFA in print media (2002) and her MFA in fiber and material studies (2006) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Her work has been widely exhibited, exploring material and form through a textile-based practice. Her work has been exhibited at Art Miami, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Toledo Museum of Art, Fiber Arts International, the Columbus Museum of Art, Akron Art Museum, the Textil-und Rennsportmuseum in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Germany and the Springfield Museum of Art.
In 2012, Andrea was awarded the Efroymson Fellowship, and she has received additional grants from the Greater Columbus Arts Council, including the invitation-only 2024 Artist Elevated Grant, and the Ohio Arts Council Project Grant and Individual Excellence award. She was a 2018 participant in the Dresden Artist Exchange.
Myers has participated in residencies at Ox-Bow School of Art in Saugatuck, MI, A Studio in the Woods (a program of Tulane University in New Orleans), Fortress Man Textile Symposium in Daugavpils, Latvia, and the Textile Art Center in New York City. She is a 2024-2025 US Japan Creative Arts Fellowship recipient, collaborating with Tokyo-based artist Mariko Kobayashi for the 2025 Osaka World Expo.
Andrea has been commissioned to create numerous public art works and corporate projects, with works in the collections of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Omaha Children’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Chase Bank, Capital One, Dayton Metro Libraries, and Facebook Corporate Offices in Chicago. She is represented by Brandt Galleries (Columbus, OH), GUT Gallery (Dallas, TX), K Imperial Fine Art (San Francisco), McCormick Gallery (Chicago, IL), Galerie Klaus Braun (Stuttgart, Germany), and Seattle Art Source (Seattle, WA).
