— With fireworks, live music and patriotic festivities in North Beach and South Beach —
Miami Beach, FL – The nation’s 249th birthday will be commemorated with two spectacular events in Miami Beach — first, a 4th of July celebration in North Beach starting at 5 p.m. that includes music, a family zone, food trucks, fireworks and a drone show over Altos Del Mar Park along with a free outdoor roller disco at the Miami Beach Bandshell. In South Beach at 8:30 p.m., the Ocean Drive Association will have live music followed by a stunning firework display in Lummus Park along Ocean Drive and 12 Street.
"Independence Day reminds us that freedom isn’t free, it was earned through courage, sacrifice, and an unshakeable belief in the founding ideals of this country," said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner." On July 4th, we honor that legacy and proudly celebrate what it means to live in America.”
North Beach
In Altos Del Mar Park (76 Street and Collins Avenue) from 5 - 8 p.m., residents and visitors can enjoy a family zone featuring a rock-climbing wall, inflatable soccer, obstacle course, giant yard games and imagination playground. Attendees can also purchase a bite to eat at one of the many food trucks on site.
Musical performances take the stage with entertainment by DJ Luc, MC Maria Salas and The Miami Beats Band. The Miami Beach Police Department’s very own Assistant Chief Daniel Morgalo will also sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at 8 p.m., followed by welcome remarks from the Miami Beach Mayor and City Commission.
The nearby Miami Beach Bandshell at 7275 Collins Ave. will be transformed into a free outdoor roller disco with skate hosts All Skates Go to Heaven and music by DJ Ray and PAPA (UNiT #3) from 5 - 9 p.m. Bring your own skates or blades. Miami Beach residents can enjoy free skate rentals with a photo I.D. Music lovers can take in the tunes from the Club Box Deck even if they prefer to go without skates.
The event wraps up with a choregraphed drone show and fireworks display on the beachfront at 76 Street at 9 p.m.
South Beach
In partnership with the City of Miami Beach and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Ocean Drive Association will host its dazzling Independence Day Fireworks & Patriotic Concert on Ocean Drive and 12 Street. The evening kicks off with an orchestra performance by the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival at 8:30 p.m.
The South Beach fireworks display will also begin at 9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to make reservations at one of the many alfresco restaurants or bring their beach chairs, blankets and picnic fare.
