Animal Welfare Committee

Composition:

The Miami Beach Animal Welfare Committee shall be composed of nine (9) voting members as follows:

Seven (7) direct appointments with the Mayor and City Commissioners each making one appointment.
Two (2) members shall be appointed as follows:

1. 1. An individual who shall be recommended by a qualified non-profit organization promoting the welfare of stray or abandoned animals in Miami-Dade County, and confirmed by the city commission.
  2. An individual who shall be recommended by Sobe Cats Spay & Neuter Inc., or a qualified non-profit organization promoting the welfare of stray or abandoned cats in Miami-Dade County, and confirmed by the city commission.
  3. For the avoidance of doubt, both members appointed pursuant to subsection (b) may be recommended for appointment by the same qualified non-profit organization.

The supporting department for the Miami Beach Animal Welfare Committee shall be the Public Works Department.
