Evelyn Sosa is a photographer based in Miami. She graduated from the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York, where she was awarded the Director’s Fellowship and the Arnold Newman Scholarship.

She has attended several photography workshops, including The Eddie Adams Workshop in New York, the Chemistry Laboratory of Photography Workshop in Havana, and the Photography Workshops of FotoFest International & Foundation for Culture and Society.

In 2017, Sosa presented Strange Birds of Passage, her first solo exhibition, in Havana. Her second solo show, Havana Intimate, opened in New York in 2019, followed by No Place Is Far Away, her first solo exhibition in Miami in 2025. She has also participated in duo exhibitions, including You Are Everyone Who Tells a Story (New York, 2023) and Nocturno (Madrid, 2025) as part of the PHotoESPAÑA Festival.

Since 2011, Sosa has participated in numerous group exhibitions across Cuba, the United States, Latin America, Europe and Japan, including an invitation to the Kyotographie Festival in 2019.

In 2024, she was awarded the Cuban Migrant Artist Resilience Fellowship by PEN International and Artists at Risk Connection, and the Miami-Dade Individual Artist (MIA) Grant by Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. Sosa is the author of the photo-book Havana Intimate, published in 2019.
