The City of Miami Beach will officially unveil three brand new lighted pickleball courts in Flamingo Park on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 8:30 a.m. The event will take place in the South Beach neighborhood park at 1200 Meridian Ave.

“Pickleball is more than a craze in Miami Beach — it’s a smash hit!” said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “From six courts at Miami Beach Golf Club to two at Polo Park and now four brand-new courts at Flamingo Park, we’re serving up even more opportunities for residents to stay active, connect with neighbors, and enjoy the best of outdoor recreation in our city.”

The grand opening will feature complimentary refreshments, giveaways as well as an opportunity for pickleball enthusiasts to meet other players. Attendees should enter through the racquetball facility at the east end of Meridian Avenue or the west end of Michigan Avenue via 13 Street.

The pickleball courts are part of a larger series of enhancements planned or underway at Flamingo Park, including extensive upgrades to the Andy Diamond softball field, renovations to the Flamingo Park Lodge and a new butterfly garden.
