Join the City of Miami Beach for the grand opening of Bayshore Park on Sunday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 19.4-acre park at 2400 Pine Tree Drive is one of the largest public parks in the city with a signature lake, center island, dog park and six competition-level tennis courts.

"Bayshore Park is a transformational milestone for Miami Beach and a once-in-a-generation investment that redefines how we live, play, and connect as a community," said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. "At nearly 20 acres, it is one of the most significant public spaces in our city’s history and shows that in Miami Beach, health, safety, and quality of life are not distant goals — they are the foundation of our community every single day."

Funded in part by the 2018 voter-approved General Obligation Bond, the new park features an earthen amphitheater, playground, pathways, jogging trail, serpentine boardwalk, pavilion, butterfly garden, vita course and fitness cluster as well as a linear water feature. It’s now one of the best places in the city to enjoy a sunset from the aptly named Sunset Hill.

“After decades of planning, we’ve transformed what was once a par 3 golf course into a beautiful park — now a model of sustainability and environmental stewardship thanks to extensive remediation,” added Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez.

The central lake incorporates a circulation system with oxygenated water along with multiple lake overlooks and infrastructure to collect and retain a portion of the stormwater runoff from the surrounding neighborhoods. For added security, Bayshore Park is equipped with a motion-activated lighting system and security cameras.

Parking for the grand opening event is available at nearby Miami Beach Senior High School (2231 Prairie Ave). Free shuttles will run from the high school to Bayshore Park during the event.
