—New marketing campaign celebrates one of the city’s most enduring architectural legacies—
Miami Beach, FL – Following another successful Art Week Miami Beach, the focus is once again turning back to the city’s permanent art collection with its iconic concrete eyebrows, cruise ship portholes and playful symmetry — Miami Beach’s tropical art deco is being highlighted in a new marketing campaign titled “Designed to Move You.”
Featuring dozens of professional and student dancers at some of the city’s most notable, historic art deco properties, the campaign kicked off today with a 90-second video spot that aired on the city’s social media platforms and website to coincide with the 100th anniversary year of the worldwide introduction of art deco. The campaign was created in close collaboration with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and its agency of record, VML.
“Art deco continues to be one of the most cited reasons why tourists choose to visit our beautiful city,” said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “With more than 800 designated historic buildings, Miami Beach is home to the largest concentration of art deco buildings in the United States and one of the largest in the world.”
In addition to the video, the city has also unveiled a new logo for the Art Deco District, a suite of digital banners and a newly designed art deco walking tour map that highlights key landmarks and art deco buildings. The pocket-sized maps will be distributed at city facilities along with hotels throughout the Miami metropolitan area.
“This campaign highlights the Art Deco District as a living destination where history, architecture and contemporary culture converge,” shared Miami Beach Commissioner Alex J. Fernandez. “From pastel-hued hotels to the neon lights on Ocean Drive, the city is a living gallery of timeless, bold and iconic style.”

Galería Ocean Drive is in Lummus Park between 11-12 streets along Ocean Drive.
