Miami Beach, FL – Celebrate Juneteenth in Miami Beach with three events over two days beginning on Thursday, June 18 and continuing through the official Juneteenth holiday on Friday, June 19.
“Juneteenth is a meaningful moment to reflect on the freedoms we all deserve,” said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “Through art, dance and music, this week of programming brings our community together to honor history, celebrate culture and recognize the enduring contributions of Black Americans.”
The traditional commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States features the following events in Miami Beach:
- Move Your Body: Memory – Masisi Radio Live Juneteenth Celebration
Masisi Radio is returning to The Bass for Move Your Body, a dynamic three-part summer residency that centers movement as a form of memory, imagination and liberation, transforming the museum into a living site of sound, cinema and performance.
Rooted in the legacy of the Black, queer and trans communities who shaped disco, house and global club culture, Move Your Body gathers artists, DJs, filmmakers and performers in assume vivid astro focus: XI—a floor-to-ceiling installation that fuses sculpture, video and design into a vibrant, participatory environment. Across three events, Masisi Radio explores how movement operates across dance floor, screen and stage, reclaiming the museum space for collective embodied expression.
Experience a Masisi Radio Live broadcast and dancefloor celebration honoring Juneteenth through Afro-Caribbean sound, centering rhythm as remembrance while celebrating the impact of Black diasporic musical traditions through DJs and community.

- Miami Beach OnStage! Presents: Juneteenth Day of Freedom
Miami Beach OnStage! — the city’s largest free outdoor performing arts series — invites the community to its annual event honoring Juneteenth with an evening of movement and sound by the Peter London Global Dance Company. The program showcases a powerful evening of movement, culture and storytelling, featuring works including A Folk’s Tale by Jamar Roberts, the world premieres of Enduring Ecdysis by Kayin Knighton and Trade & Reclamation by Peter London, and the celebratory piece Kaiso.

- The Juneteenth Experience
The Juneteenth Experience returns for its sixth year to the Miami Beach Bandshell for a night of culture and community. Enjoy an unforgettable multidisciplinary concert‑theater experience blending gospel, blues, R&B and classical music in a powerful reflection on identity, history and the Black roots of American sound.
