Miami Beach, FL – Families in Miami Beach have a new reason to play as the city unveils a fully reimagined La Gorce playground, transformed into a vibrant jungle-themed oasis that sparks creativity and exploration at 6421 Alton Road. The grand opening will be held on Friday, March 6 at 3 p.m.

The new playset was funded entirely by the city’s taxpayer-approved 2018 and 2022 general obligation bonds, which provided millions of dollars to strengthen city infrastructure, enhance parks and recreational amenities while investing in public safety enhancements as well as arts and culture initiatives throughout the city.

“This imaginative space is a fun addition to our North Beach community and our citywide portfolio of 45 parks and 22 playgrounds,” said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner. “By featuring unique elements like the Giant Tree House and Cobra Slide, we are creating unique environments that make Miami Beach a world-class place for our families to live and play.”

The design of the playground was the result of extensive input from residents. In addition to the jungle-themed playset, the playground now offers additional shade coverage and enhanced safety features, including a poured-in-place safety surface.
