Valet Service Checklist

Prior to submitting a Business Tax Receipt (BTR) application, please contact the Parking Department to obtain preliminary valet ramp location approval by calling 305.673.7000 ext. 6200 and/or sending an email to ParkingMeterRentals@miamibeachfl.gov. Preliminary valet ramp location approval only allows you to begin the BTR application process. 

As per Sec. 18-341 of the City of Miami Beach Code of Ordinances, in no instance shall there be more than one valet operator per block and no less than two, and no more than four parking spaces (two per block face) be permitted. In such case, new requests for valet parking service shall only be granted through attrition of existing service on the block, except upon Ocean Drive between 5th Street and 15th Street. 

Once preliminary valet ramp location approval is granted, all documents below must be submitted along with the BTR application. BTR applications submitted without the required supporting documentation will not be accepted. Please take note of the application (BLPL) number assigned to you. 

Required Documents:

Notarized letter of authorization from each establishment on their letterhead. Photocopies are not accepted.
Letter of Authorization for Storage & Business Tax Receipt for the Private Parking Facility allowing Valet Operator to park/store vehicles.
Total parking space allocation with the identified storage location 
Federal Identification Number (FEIN) 
Articles of Incorporation 
Certificate of Insurance
Valet Parking Operation Plan (Traffic Analysis) for new valet location

Transportation Department Approval: Valet Parking Operational Plan
Code Compliance Approval: Checks for Code Violations at each establishment
Parking Department Approval: Parking Spaces, Valet Ramp Location, and Valet Parking Violation check
Risk Management: Insurance Approval
