Drinking & Potable Water

Watertank 2

Water quality encompasses more than just safe swimming, it also includes the safety and reliability of our drinking water.

The City of Miami Beach receives all of its potable and drinking water from the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department (WASD). This water is treated and monitored to meet or exceed the standards set by both the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The City of Miami Beach employs professionally licensed water distribution system operators and engineers. This team has collaboratively developed a proactive water quality sampling and monitoring plan and best management practices exceeding federal and state minimum requirements.

To learn more about how your drinking water is sourced, treated and tested, we encourage residents to review the latest findings in the 2024 Water Quality Report.
