Beach Health

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) monitors the beach water quality weekly.  The coastal beach water samples collected by the Miami-Dade County Health Department are analyzed for enterococci and fecal coliform bacteria.  High concentrations of these bacteria may indicate the presence of microorganisms that could cause disease, infections, or rashes.  County health departments will issue health advisories or warnings when these conditions are confirmed.

The DOH provides water sampling results weekly for the beaches throughout Miami-Dade County. Click here to learn more.
