

According to the City of Miami Beach’s Code of Ordinances Section 98-166 and Section 46-62, all vegetation maintenance including trees and palms in the swale/right-of-way is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner.
In order to remove a tree in the right-of-way, a Tree Removal Permit must be obtained from the Urban Forestry Division.
In order to install a tree/palm in the right-of-way, a Right-Of-Way Permit must be obtained from the Public Works Department.
The City does not permit the planting of shrubbery within the right-of-way, only grass and trees/palms that conform to Right-Tree, Right-Place guidelines.
City personnel are not allowed to perform work on private property.

Create an E-Gov request, referring the item to Urban Forestry so that the location can be documented as a future reforestation site. Urban Forestry will coordinate the removal of the dead tree/palm with Greenspace Management.
