Pilot Overview
Hop on board our new water taxi to travel between Miami Beach and Miami – without the traffic! Miami Beach residents sail free with a valid I.D. through August 4, 2024.
Stop Locations
Step aboard our 65-foot catamaran for an 18-minute scenic voyage across Biscayne Bay. Our proposed route includes two stops:
1. Miami Beach: South side of Maurice Gibb Memorial Park, located at 18th Street and Purdy Ave.
2. Miami: Venetian Marina & Yacht Club, also known as Sea Isle Marina, located at 1635 N Bayshore Dr.
Route is Strategically Located
Close proximity to multi-modal connectivity and parking on both Miami Beach (South Beach Trolley/Freebee) and Miami sides (OMNI Station).
No bridge openings required along the route.
Consistent headway time of approximately 18 minutes.
No competition with existing Water Taxi service providers in the area.
Ticketing & Schedules
Ticketing
One-way fare prices are $5 for Miami Beach residents, $12 for non-residents, and $6 for seniors 65 years of age or older and disabled military personnel. Miami-Dade County Golden Passport holders and children 12 years old and younger will sail for free. There is a weekly commuter pass option for $30 (10 trips at $3 per trip) and a monthly commuter pass option for $120 (40 trips at $3 per trip).
Fares and passes can be purchased onboard the water taxi, at www.poseidonferry.com, on the Poseidon Ferry Mobile App or over the phone with a ticket agent by calling 844.623.3779 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. daily.
Miami Beach residents must show a valid I.D. to receive the resident rate. Resident fares will be waived during the first 30 days of operation through July 31.
Miami Beach residents can apply for a Golden Passport in person at the Miami Beach Customer Service Center at 1755 Meridian Ave, First Floor. Make an appointment online or call 305.673.7420.
Schedules
The water taxi operates daily from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. except during the hours of 2-3 p.m. to accommodate a shift change. The vessel departs from Maurice Gibb Memorial Park every hour on the half hour commencing at 7:30 a.m. and departs the Venetian Marina & Yacht Club every hour on the hour starting at 8 a.m. The trip takes approximately 18 minutes each way.
