We are dedicated to providing best practices programming with high quality supports for our youth, elders and families.

The Office of Community Services advocates for all those who live, work, and play in the City of Miami Beach through partnerships, coalitions, and special initiatives and serves as an ACCESS Florida site for the Department of Children and Families.

After School Program

Miami Beach All Stars offers an after-school program for youth attending 6th, 7th, or 8th grade at Nautilus Middle School and a summer camp program for all Miami-Dade residents attending any middle school (6th – 8th grades). Our program is fully funded by The Children’s Trust and all programming along with activities are completely free to participants.

In partnership with the City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Teen Club, the Miami Beach All Stars Program consists of a structured design of activities and outcomes-driven programming grounded by the evidence-based Positive Action Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum. In addition, highly interactive, skill-building activities are provided in the following areas: academics, arts, sports, community service, entrepreneurship, and STEM. Our after-school program is held at the City of Miami Beach Teen Club located at Nautilus Middle School.

The summer program is an opportunity for youth to learn, create, and make using science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Our goal is to equip our youth with the needed social, emotional, and cognitive skills that promote academic success, healthy youth development, and healthy successful families. The summer camp program is held at Miami Beach Regional Library.

Miami Beach Parent-Child Program, funded entirely by The Children’s Trust, serves families in Miami Beach with children aged birth through 16, including expecting families. Our program offers evidence-based Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) and Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) classes designed to foster family interaction and growth for parents/caregivers and children.

The program operates through two modalities, catering to the needs of families with children aged 0-12 and adolescents aged 13-16. Group sessions are conducted weekly during the fall and spring, spanning eight class sessions. Each session begins with a complimentary family meal, and childcare is provided at no cost. Collaborating with the City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, sessions are hosted at North Shore Youth Center and Fienberg Fisher K-8.

A home-based option is available year-round for expecting families and families with children from birth to 5 years old. These sessions occur once a week for 24 weeks and 18 weeks for the Prenatal program. A skilled facilitator conducts these sessions in the comfort of your home.

The NPP and Triple P curriculums cover a range of topics tailored to children's developmental stages. They incorporate hands-on activities, parent handbooks, and dedicated family time. These curriculums aim to cultivate empathy, strengthen familial bonds, enhance communication skills, bolster parental understanding of child development, and empower parents.

My child is in need of tutoring. Who do I call?

Our office offers a variety of programs for youth enrolled in our Miami Beach Feeder Pattern schools. Call 305.673.7491 for more information and eligibility requirements.

What do I do if I am homeless?

If you are homeless in Miami Beach, call 305.604.4663, Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. – 3:30 P.M. for direct staff assistance, or stop by our office at 555 – 17th Street.

After a short intake and assessment, our office can assist you with emergency shelter, relocation services (if you have family or friends willing to provide you help in another city within the contiguous United States), transportation tokens, and referrals to food, clothing, and more.

I am being evicted from my apartment. What can I do?

The Office of Community Services provides rental and utility assistance, upon fund availability. If funds are available, applicants must apply at https://apps.miamibeachfl.gov/housing to receive an appointment.
