On-Demand Transit Service for Seniors

THE ON-DEMAND TRANSIT SERVICE FOR SENIORS

In response to COVID-19 pandemic, on November 16, 2020, the City launched an on-demand Freebee service for elderly residents (65 and older) living in affordable housing facilities throughout the City. Service is being provided to/from approximately 40 elderly facilities located in South, Middle, and North Beach and the closest Publix supermarket or pharmacy. The service is also available to Miami Beach seniors who participate in any of the elder programs provided by UNIDAD, Jewish Community Services, or Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Center (advanced registration with Freebee is required). Service operates seven (7) days a week, for 10.5 hours a day from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  To schedule a ride, seniors should call 855.918.3733 (DISCLAIMER – Freebee toll free number is not part of the City of Miami Beach organization) at least 30 minutes in advance of desired pickup time and provide name, phone number, pickup location, desired pickup time and number of passengers (maximum of four). Due to high demand, Rebecca Towers residents may have a dedicated Freebee vehicle.  The return trips are pre-arranged between the customer and the Freebee driver.

The number of passengers on each Freebee vehicle will be limited to four.
