The City of Miami Beach offers a variety of activities and programs for seniors ages 55+. Our programs are specially designed to allow every adult of any activity level to participate in a safe and inviting environment. Seniors ages 55+, come support youth across Miami Beach by volunteering your time to help improve reading and language fluency.

PLAY TIME AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING

The Parks and Recreation Department welcomes senior volunteers to read or teach foreign languages to young students as part of the City of Miami Beach's new intergenerational Program Initiative. Volunteer opportunities exist at the following locations: 

Play Time Programming (Ages 3-4) Monday - Friday 10AM - 11AM

  • South Pointe Park (1 Washington Avenue)
  • Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue)
  • North Shore Park and Youth Center (501 72 Street)

After School Programming (Grades K-3) Monday - Friday 3PM - 4PM

  • Flamingo Park (999 11 Street)
  • Muss Park (4300 Chase Avenue)
  • North Shore Park and Youth Center (501 72 Street)

PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROGRAMMING

Volunteer opportunities are also available at Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) at the following Miami Beach schools:
