Online Permitting

The Building Department is excited to offer the ability to apply for permits online.  Online permitting allows you to fill out an application, submit required drawings and documents and pay for your permit.  Once your permit is approved, you may download your approved set of plans along with the permit card.

How to Prepare Plans and Documents

Remote Online Notarization

Applicants may opt to notarize applications and other documents using an Remote Online Notary.  Although we do not endorse any vendor, below is a list of companies that provide this service.

Electronic Plans Submittal

The Building Department allows for the electronic submittal of drawings and documents for review.  To qualify for this submittal type, design professionals must adhere to their respective boards’ requirements regarding Digitally or Electronically Signing and Sealing of drawings and documents.  Below, are links to each board’s statutes:

**During the COVID-19 Emergency Period, design professionals may submit scanned drawings and documents in lieu of a digital signed and sealed set along with the required affidavit which can be downloaded here.

Note:  This affidavit must be submitted each time drawings are submitted.  Therefore, if plans are rejected and the applicant submits re-work, the affidavit must accompany the plans.  

Plans must be submitted as one set per discipline, each page showing stamp, and each set digitally signed by the design professional. 

Affidavits submitted by engineers will be accepted until December 31, 2020.

Affidavits submitted by architects will be accepted until July 31, 2020.**
