LPR Enforcement

The LPR system uses cameras to read the vehicles license plate of every vehicle entering and exiting the parking facility. It records the time of entry and exit and checks it against the city's payment and permit database to ensure that all vehicles have paid or have a valid permit for the duration of their stay

You can pay for parking using the designated pay stations or the specified mobile parking app. Be sure to enter your license plate number correctly to link your payment to your vehicle. If you have a valid parking permit issued by the city, the system will automatically recognize it.

A citation will be issued to your vehicle's registered owner if you:

• Fail to pay for parking.
• Park for a duration longer than the amount of time you paid for.
• Park without a valid permit and fail to pay.
• Does not have a valid disabled parking permit and fail to pay for the amount of time you park.

Disabled parkers are exempt from paying for parking only if their disabled parking permit is officially registered with the City of Miami Beach. If you have a valid disabled parking permit and have not registered your disabled parking permit with the city, you are required to pay for parking. Failure to do so will result in a citation.

If the LPR system detects a violation, a citation will be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle. The citation will include information about the violation, the amount due, and instructions on how to pay or contest the citation.

The mailed citation will provide instructions on how to contest the citation. This typically involves submitting an appeal online or by mail with supporting documentation.
