Why is a Construction Parking Management Plan (CPMP) required for a Building Permit?

What is the purpose of a Construction Parking Management Plan (CPMP)?
ExpandThe Construction Parking Management Plan (CPMP) aims to:
- Minimize parking impact imposed by employees of construction projects
- Maintain parking from construction projects on-site or other sites approved by the City.
Can construction employees park on the swale, right-of-way, or city-owned parking spaces?
ExpandNo, construction employees cannot park in the swale, right-of-way, or city-owned parking spaces. These areas are only for loading, unloading, and deliveries and need approval by the Parking Director.
What is the review and processing time?
ExpandConstruction Parking Management Plan (CPMP) applications may take up to five (5) business days to process.
What happens if a construction employee parks outside the approved area in the Construction Parking Management Plan (CPMP)?
ExpandA Parking Compliance Inspector may issue a citation in accordance with the violation outlined in the City of Miami Beach Code, Chapter 30.
What is off-site parking?
ExpandOff-site parking is required when the construction site lacks sufficient parking for their employees. In this case, the General Contractor or Property Owner must arrange parking at nearby privately-owned lots for construction employees.
What are the off-site parking requirements?
Expand- Location of off-site parking;
- Proof of lease or written approval from the off-site parking owner;
- Transportation plan showing how employees will get to and from the job site and the off-site parking location.
